Easy place to work and staff are very friendly and close knit. Always helping each other and management are helpful when they're not in a mood. Can be stressful at times
Friendly staff, easy going working environment
Money is minimum wage and dont bother asking for a pay raise
SuperValu did not provide the legal minimum of breaks for me while working there, yet subtracted time for these breaks from my pay each week. I received very few hours each week and was paid poorly for what I did work. There were no benefits or discounts whatsoever, and overall the management were rarely friendly or helpful.
SuperValu is a positive shop to work in I think. Most things about it our positive. The people, balanced life style, the price of the food that’s for sale.
Lunch times are ideal in my opinion
Hours can be long but if there’s more work to do it must be done.
Avoid at all cost! Bullying, Isolation, Stressfull and Soul Destroying. Back stabbing, constant talking behind your back, Dirty looks, absolutely no craic. Worst place to work! Absolute Rats! They are all not much better than vermon! Hr was very unapproachable. Just a pure B***H!!!!
Every day was stressful with managers trying to use as little staff as possible to get a big shop looking good. Bad work environment, no one looks out for you. Morale across the board is low, even among lower management. No incentives, no rewards, no staff discounts. Customers can see how badly run and managed it is.
I enjoy my time working at Supervalu. I find the work fast paced and the day is always busy. The work is varied and includes stock taking, packing shelves, helping people pack their shopping and working at the till. I work as part of a team and there is a great sense of friendship and collaboration. We all cooperate to ensure the smooth running of the store. I particularly enjoy meeting customers and being friendly and helpful to all. I respect my manager who has a very challenging role to ensure that the store is adequately staffed, shelves are packed and a high standard of service is provided for all customers. I am always cooperative and flexible. I enjoy being challenged and adapt easily to any new role that I am assigned. I don't find any part of the job difficult. I have learned that the main priority of my job is to ensure that the needs of the customer are always met.
Smiling helps when your working in an environment like this one. Don't ever get to worked up about not knowing what your doing or not knowing where certain products go because you will catch on eventually.
Managed extremely poorly. Hours are terrible. Mangers talk to you like children, no respect! No respect and no opportunity for long term staff. The pay is very bad. The turnover in staff is huge, for good reason. A lot of people leave due to anxiety over the way there spoken to each day. Save yourself.

I enjoyed my experience with Supervalu. Each day was a new challenge. I particularly enjoyed meeting new people and meeting deadlines set for me. I learned how to complete online orders , and keep shelves fully stocked and faced. I also help with packing customers' orders. The most enjoyable part of my job was making new friendships among the staff, and liaising with the customers.
Okay, its basically stacking shelves and its not difficult. Biggest problem with this job is that you don't know when you will be asked to work from week to week. It can go from being asked to work overtime one week to being asked to only work something like 12 hours the following week. Pay rate would want to be very high for that not to be an issue. Management seem to be trying to pick things up as they go along - they are often firefighting and quick to apportion blame when the smallest issue arises.
Nothing to speak of really
Haphazard style of management, unpredictable work hours, employees are intimidated into staying after hours if a certain manager hasn't inspected their work, employees are barely thanked for their contribution to the business
