Very poor company to work for
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Dublin Airport, County Dublin23 September 2019
Worked for swissport for about 8 months. At the start all seemed OK. Until a few weeks in that is. I was left to run the maintenance in the whole airport by myself with no help. If u ask for help your looked at like u have 5 heads. Communication between some work colleagues is very poor. Some people would rather see you struggle than help you. Equipment is as old as My grandad.

Ramp Managers do nothing but bully one in particular. They grind you down till you can take no more. No praise given for the good work done a

Enjoyable work, poor company though
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) –  Dublin9 August 2019
Job is so different to any other job and while the work is hard it’s quite enjoyable. However, a lot of the guys who are above ramp agents are bad mannered, verbally abusive and discriminative towards agents. Very few staff members are willing to help anyone due to the toxicity there. High staff turnover is a direct result of abuse and unwillingness to help or even be polite. Roster is all over the place, no pattern or consistency and this could easily be resolved and would be much more efficient for the company by freeing up allocators time and happier staff can’t hurt performance....
When you meet good guys here though they really are the best!!!!

Things that need to be addressed:

Roster
Work relations training definitely for team leads/supervisors.
Consequences for abuse/discrimination at any level.
Pay
Breaks should always be given for health & safety purposes due to the manual aspect of the work.
Shadow training for new staff...even for a day or two.
Pros
Some great people, exciting role
Cons
Roster, management & pay

Customer Service/ Check in Agent (Former Employee) –  Dublin Airport, County Dublin10 June 2019
I worked there for a while and never experienced managers screaming and shouting and swearing at their staff. Very non - professional and salary is low. And supervisors are not trained for this position, badly organized. They don't know how to do the job the same as their managers. I realized I'm too good and knowledgeable to waste my time in this place. Never ever again.
Pros
none
Cons
Everything needs to be changed in this company.

Aircraft Cleaner (Current Employee) –  Dublin Airport, County Dublin4 January 2019
Swissport is an excellent company to work for.
We do many different things each day with many different roles such as cleaning and security.
Every day in swissport is different. I really enjoy my job but just feel I need to go elsewhere for experience.

Horrible company.
Passenger Service Agent (Current Employee) –  Shannon, County Clare13 October 2018
Absolutely love working in the airport, meeting loads of different customers everyday. Actually have no idea how this company is allowed to operate. BUxxiES..you are not allowed to be good at your job, some permanent staff will turn on you. I would love to stay working at airport as passenger services agent but not with SWISSPORT..supervisors/management turn blind eye to everything, wouldnt manage a pxxs up in a brewery. My heart went out to this years summer staff, the way they were treated by some permanent and in particular one part time staff member. It was just down right bullying. A couple of those summer staff were right good at the job and had great customer servic, some permanent staff didnt like that because they were getting great praise from customers.Needless to say all summer staff left except for a couple who got in with the gobshites. I am only still here because of bills, but im close to getting a new job with nicer company . Maybe a nice company will start passenger services at shannon. Maybe I might even :-)..
Pros
Met wonderful customers
Cons
some horrible work colleagues

Bad management, lazy old staff rostering issues no social life
Passenger Service Agent (Former Employee) –  Dublin23 August 2018
Do not work here if you want to be treated as a number or be valued as an employee , management is poor & have zero indication how to treat their staff or communicate correctly with them, if you go to speak about an issue with them It’s put on the long finger or deal with it yourself. Rostering is awful you get a weekend off every 6 weeks and u spend most of them working as you never get ur contracted hours in ur roster so you have to make them up by working extra days you can sometimes get no 11 hour gap in ur days and most times you will finish on a late and start on an early early, there is no staff appreciation you can work a long day helping out a delayed flight no management or supervisors to be seen anywhere no Xmas party’s no Xmas bonus not even a sandwich , you receive calls on your days of begging you to work because they have a constant turn over of staff most people not lasting very long, a lot of lazy staff who just sit sending emails or pretending their busy in an office who are trained on multiple airlines but are never rostered onflights and basically given what ever shifts you want, don’t complain because you will be punished request earlies you will get lates request more hours they will drop them..,DO NOT WORK HERE!

Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) –  Dublin Airport, County Dublin21 March 2018
The way staff are treated within this company is very poor. They are very unprofessional and are very bad at replying to queries and issues you need to be solved.

HR is very poor and waiting times for documentation is ridiculous waited 3 months when I first started for a contract.

Working hours are very poor unless you take overtime which is very hard as a lot of staff want the same shifts. Staff are under paid for the work they do and are not appreciated or thanked for their dedication and hard work which they do to keep the company striving.

The only benefit from this job is the people you work alongside.
Pros
Nice colleagues
Cons
Management, pay, hours, lack of communication

Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) –  dublin airport18 January 2018
early starts but is a very highly respected job.
meet new people every day and make a lot of new friends.
can go to different countrys to work when having a lot of airport experience.
I learned a lot about the airport when before I started I wouldn't even know my way around and have a better understanding on how the airport is run.
management can be really busy so it feels like they don't have time for you at times.
hardest part of the job was the early mornings.
most enjoyable was the job itself and meeting new people and trying to better your career in the airport
Pros
knowleagment of the airport, fast track
Cons
very early starts

Working for Swissport was one of the happiest moments of my life. Dublin Airport is one of the busiest in Europe and it definitely brings its excitement.

Swissport made it easier to enjoy and adapt to such a busy place. Meeting thousands of passenger every day and no two days are the same.
