I'm wotrking 10 minutes from home it's so handy. If you work hard they look after you and the management are mostly very nice. I enjoy working there. We get different benefits during the year and the union help that.
Free tea coffee cereals and milk
Late openings and working weekends
Working under pressure. Managers at first few weeks or months are nice and then sit on your back. They ask you for favour to stay longer and one week later you don't get your money for overtime. Working at nights you don't get the same benefits as a day shift. No Christmas party, working on new year's eve, holidays promised and than mixed up and so on
I began working at a Tesco that was newly opened and continued for about 4 years there. Although they hired plenty of staff at first, staff began quickly hemorrhaging due to students returning to school and them cutting the role of night staff. However, despite staff numbers dropping, they insisted on everyone else "pulling their weight" more, ending in coworkers working much longer hours than originally anticipated and having to take on multiple roles at once. A coworker of mine was asked to repeatedly work 10+ hours a day, as well as staying overtime as she was the only staff trained in reorganising the layout of the shop. Staff, especially in the morning, are given duties that would realistically warrant a payrise (ie working as the on-duty manager), are told that it is just how it is. I enjoyed my time working there but be aware of being taken advantage of, especially if you are seen to be someone who is eager to please.
Fair wages, most managers are quite nice and friendly
Hours, lack of staff

I over all enjoyed this experience. I got to know a lot of the colleagues that where working there and they helped me fit in well.
I started off in the warehouse unpacking clothes and hanging them up in the right category’s eg mens, women’s and children. I took all the plastic off clothes and took paper and cardboard out of shoes and hung them up and recycled the plastic and paper from them. After a few hours got a break then was out on the floor working the changing rooms.
I got to see most aspects of the shop
The warehouse was cold

A experiência de trabalhar no Tesco foi bastante rica para meu currículo, aprendi novas tarefas em uma cultura diferente da minha, novos métodos além de proporcionar o desenvolvimento da língua inglesa para estudantes internacionais.
Horario flexivel, descontos e jornada te trabalho tranquila.
Nao ha benefícios como vale transporte ou vale refeição, mas ha lanche no local.
