Not good
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Balbriggan, County Dublin9 February 2020
Don’t mean to be offensive but if your Irish would highly recommend avoiding as a lot of the staff are foreign and would make you feel uncomfortable as they won’t speak English around you even though they are capable , extremely rude especially the girls in health and beauty , confidence knocker job

The mornings were very slow paced. Afternoon and around pm it got quite fast paced. Management wasn't great. Salary is normal. average. Nothing hard about the job.

Sales Assistant (Current Employee) –  Dublin7 February 2020
Low staff morale, management do not care about staff. Work life balance is not important to Tesco. Good wage starting and does rise, there is opportunities to progress

Not enough hours
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) –  Castlebar, County Mayo5 February 2020
Hourly rate is higher for delivery drivers than regular "colleagues" but the hours aren't regular or sufficient, shift can change from day to day and it's rare to get two days off together. Colleagues are mostly pleasant and helpful.

Delivery driver Tesco
Home Delivery Driver (Former Employee) –  IE Finglas1 February 2020
Driving for home delivery. Delivery runs planned but no enough time to get deliveries done on time always late returning to base resulting in delays for next driver. No real management with any cop on in delivery department a case of just do the job and don’t come back with any orders not delivered. I was based in Finglas and they were allowing me 20 minutes to get to Dundrum at 9 in the morning. Could not wait to leave. New guys always get late weekend and late shifts. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Shocking
Customer Assistant (Former Employee) –  Bray25 January 2020
Worked here for years and nothing ever changed, management never took anyone's advice into consideration. Rosters are monthly so was handy for plans in the future. Turnover of staff was shocking, new people every few weeks and people leaving every few weeks. Breaks are an hour and 15 minutes which was good. No matter how busy you were, most of the time you will be called to checkouts or else checkouts onto the floor even though that is not your assigned section. Won't miss working here at all.

Tesco is an excellent company to work for who is a great stepping stone for progression , talent spotting. The benefits however are not great and the payment for the hard work is undervalued

Worst decision I ever made
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) –  Waterford16 January 2020
Tesco has 2 faces. The face the public see and the face you as an employee see. They take "fully flexible" and truly use it as a weapon. If your seen as someone that rocks the boat even with a genuine reason. They will use this against you. The pay is ok. If you manage to stick around for 3 years to reach the pay cap. Keep in mind your hourly pay is offset as they only hire on 25 hour contracts. After 3 years they really try to make work as awkward as possible. It's cheaper the hire a new person so the same role on a new 25 hour contract on the lower pay rate. The way the company operated is a mess. There is no correct way of doing anything becuase managers and team leaders have different ways to do everything. This essentially means you are always making mistakes and they love pointing this out. Honestly avoid at all costs.
Pros
10% discount after 6 months.
Cons
Pay. Staff. Management.

Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) –  City Centre Dublin, County Dublin15 January 2020
Good company to work for, lots of employee benefits. Fast paced environment, lots of on the job training. Shift work is the hardest part of the job, not having regular shift patterns because they change.
