Any chef worth his or her salt do not go here
Nice to work for. They promise you everything from bonuses to staff. All bullshite .11 hours a day no brigade. Glad to see the back of it having worked all over Xmas and new year without even a thank you or the promised bonus. My advice stay clear if your a decent head .

Causal, family friendly and enjoyable workplace
Each day has its own challenge, setting up meetings, serving food and drink, dealing with customers throughout the day. I have learnt a lot in my 3 years in the hotel. learnt all sorts of plans, set ups, serving customers, how to deal with multiple situations and issues with customers, maintaining a bar and its cleanliness. Management is very easy to get along with and understanding. It keeps a good atmosphere in the work place. there are many hard parts to working in the station house, but all the staff knows what they have to do and get the job done. Most enjoyable part has to be working with the people that are there, everyone gets on and there is always craic to be had.
Pros
enjoyable, free breaks
Cons
residents bar

Good pay but not friendly
Mainly worked 13 hour shifts behind the bar for weddings with a 30 minute break, whilst being extremely understaffed. Hardest part of the job was carrying inexperienced staff.
Pros
Free food on break.
Cons
Extremely long hours and small breaks

Steep, but rewarding learning curve
Very interesting work place, fast paced and lots of pressure ensures that only strong team players with a level head on their shoulders will make it here.

Typical day entailed checking stock in the back, restocking the bar, taking orders and serving food and drink, be it in the Function room, main bar, or the restaurant. Other duties included dealing with customers' queries or complaints and ordering new stock from suppliers for future weddings.
Pros
Free lunches, the staff become your second family
Cons
Very limited social life as weekend work is guaranteed.
