Wish I Didn't Have to Leave!
Administrator (Former Employee) - Limerick, County Limerick - 25 May 2023
UL has a fantastic work culture, there is a great work/life balance and it is encouraged to take all your annual leave, management is very understanding about medical appointments and family emergencies. There is a solid hybrid work policy. All staff are so friendly and helpful. There are many training opportunities and learning events to attend. The only reason I left was due to relocating but otherwise, I could have seen myself working here for many years and moved up.
Pros
Relaxed environment, great location, good pay, high job satisfaction
Cons
Lots of downtime between projects, busy campus, limited parking

Insights into University of Limerick
What people like
- Inclusive work environment
Areas for improvement
- Support from manager
- Supportive environment
- Ability to meet personal goals
A very political and bureaucratic environment
Service Attendant (Current Employee) - B & E - 1 August 2022
Hard to advance when roles are almost always earmarked for someone specific. Lip service is definitely the name of the game. It’s a stagnant environment and will never change because of the group think tank that has been created.
Pros
Easy going colleagues
Cons
Stagnant culture

Great place to work
Administrator (Former Employee) - Limerick - 20 February 2020
Worked a few positions here due to great advancement opportunities. Helped build up my CV after studying here and would recommend it for anyone. People are friendly. Only down side is the busy college periods at lunch time and parking is difficult, sometimes end up needing to park in paid car park if you can't cycle or get the bus.

Scientfic Researcher (PhD) (Current Employee) - Limerick - 20 August 2019

I learned that one has to arrange things on his very own, since there is no real support available.
Pros

Great job if you're in the right department for €35/class
Tutor (Former Employee) - Limerick, Ireland - 31 July 2019
I worked as a tutorial instructor for a slew of classes and lecturers in the business department at the kemmy business building and Schumann building.
Only one lecturer had a bad reputation and her relationship with the head tutor made our lives pretty rough. I chose different teams and classes after that experience and have nothing but good things to say about everyone in that department minus those two individuals.
