Excellent

A typical day working in the University of Limerick involved tutoring undergraduate students within the Industrial Relations module. I learned quite a lot about the topic area during my undergrad and masters however delivering these modules allowed for the reinforcement of the subject matter to settle in.

Productive and fun workplace

Meet up for rehearsals at 10am. Rehearse till 2pm. Then pack down the gear and load it into the van. Drive to the venue for the concert. Unload the van and set it up on stage. Do a sound-check for an hour. Then get some dinner and have some 'down-time' until the concert that night. Sometimes there may be time scheduled to go into the studio to do some recording. This would mean more rehearsing and fine-tuning the material so we would be ready for the studio. Concert schedules were demanding with concert dates close together which meant a lot of late nights and early mornings.

Pros

Get to play music for a living

Cons

Eating out of filling stations.

Fun, Detailed,

I was brought in to clear a back log of delivery dockets and invoices for incoming goods. It involved going through paper work and filing dockets according to their Postal order number. Other duties involved answering phone and quires, singing for packages and delivering them in the University. The work was part time, It started in November ended in December in 2013.

Pros

Enjoyable work environment, Flexible hours, nice work surroundings.
