Depends on the store

Great company to work for once your in the right store, targets are somewhat achievable if your good at sales, depending on your store location and TM you could get a bad one or a good one

Poisonous Atmosphere

Avoid Wexford store franchises bar Wexford Town. Commission is never paid correctly, will furlough staff so they won't meet their targets, overlook terrible staff members if they're making sales.

Pros

Sundays off, the majority of the staff are nice

Cons

Never get paid correct Commission, bullying nature, grossly underpaid for your work, terrible Customers, too much politics for the job, sales theft by fellow staff rampant

Bullying Stressful Environment

A bullying, awful workplace, more stressful than should be. Terrible management overall, given much more work than you're paid for, targets are much too high and new employees are barely trained.

Very rewarding

Great place to work, the environment is friendly and staff are welcoming. It is a fast paced job but well worth the odd frustration. Management is organised.

Productive

Overall great company Happy enough can’t complain staff are generally happy, public work is tough and certainly is only getting harder to deal with on a consistent basis, but generally all good

Pros

Good comunicazione

Great place to work

Great place to work, really good benefits for e.g staff discounts. Very fair. Hours are good. No issues with holidays being approved. In general lovely place to work everyone is very friendly & helpful nothing ever seems like an issue.

A good job let down by high targets

When I started in Vodafone as a sales advisor my targets seemed reasonable. Now over the last year or so the targets have been raised considerably. Each month the targets change at the discretion of upper management. The stress is not worth the wage if you're not making commission. If you do manage to hit your targets the commission is really good, but that is becoming increasingly difficult. The systems are completely outdated also. The platform used to make sales is full of bugs, ridiculously slow and often crashes completely. There's also no way to track your sales throughout the day, you have to keep track of them manually yourself. Management in my store have always been a pleasure to work with and it was a good work environment until everyone became stressed about targets.

Extremely high targets

HO management just adds more and more workload , you have to manually track all sales ( working in retail and dealing with roughly 50 customers a day ) is not an easy task all because there is no internal system that keeps track of the sales / transactions , targets EXTREMELY HIGH , to be fair if you do somehow manage to get ur targets , comission is really good , but 9 times out of then not even close to achieve. There is no set KPI , they just change on monthly basis , put 10 things in a hat , pull one out , that's gonna be ur KPI for the month. I general if you wsnt a lot of stress for minimum wage , you should apply. People not taking their breaks so they would have a chance to hit targets. AVOID

Pros

Work colleagues

Cons

System issues, unrealistic targets, lack of 2nd level support, lack of escalation procedures

I was warned but said I'd try it out for myself, Unfortunately this was a complete waste of time

Very poorly managed, no clear lines of demarcation, lacking in effective process and no SLA in place, just make things happen as you go type of job.**The company lacked providing a clear commission structure** Volatile Commission structure changes, sometimes mid month you will find out, which I'm sure you agree for someone in sales this is very demotivating.***Not mentioned in interview***Several Caveats are in place which must be achieved @ 100% to unlock any commission, coupled with the above leaves you wondering what if anything can you make next month.**The training academy** Unfortunately the product knowledge had huge gaps... I felt no one really understood the products but more sold on the basis of a price comparison rather than finding a solution for a client's pain points. The team of BDM's in SME were predominantly very childish & unprofessional.. feels more like a call center job than a BDM role due to the culture you need to work in.

Pros

Vodafone paid mobile package

Cons

Very long hours, unattractive commission package

Absolutely awful experience

Would not recommend unless you want to work 6 day weeks from day one with no training. Very poor management. Promise of commission but targets ridiculously high and unachievable for the first 6 months at least. Not worth the stress. One of the worst jobs I've ever had. Their network is always down so be prepared for constant abuse from angry customers (who are completely justified in their anger).

Wouldn't recommend it

Highly stressful, unachievable sales targets, higher Management and owners do not care about their staff. Wages is rubbish, commission structure is a joke . Training is non existent. Fear tactics toward elderly customers to encourage them to sign into a bill pay contract

Pros

Never finish later than 6pm

Cons

Underpaid, Stressful environment. No support from management. Dealing with clueless, ignorant customers, the wages paid for the job you have to do is laughable

Nearing the end of the line

Ive been working for Vodafone for 7 years now and in that time ive felt the avenues for progression are very slim and recently a lot of people have been let go which has made it even harder to advance.

Vodafone

If you want to progress don’t work in Vodafone , no room for progression unless you’re in a click and prepared to lick up to management and be false with the rest of managers Wasted my time working there , a lot of talk of perks and progression at start but all empty talk Great place to work if you want to work for peanuts with no thanks from management

Great if your single

They provided us with decent training but the salary just wasn't good enough for the not so productive weeks ( approx €1200pm) When sales were got and targets were hit it was fantastic between half days, incentives and commission ( approx €2000pm ) . Plus use of the company car out of business hours. I personally got on very well with management very well the only fownfal is the basic my opinion plus the late hours .

A progressive company who are still at the top of their game!

This company never stood still from the day I started till the day I finished and they are still at the top of their game. If you wanted to progress in your career there were always opportunities for the taking.

Pros

There were many

Cons

Would have liked more flexi-time

Great Work Life Balance

Great Work Life Balance and always have events and incentives. Given the model, can be hard to get things done with stakeholders etc. Also due to model, salaries are lower

Dishonest managers

Worst company to work for steer clear or you will have health problems, they go through managers monthly and they havent a clue how to manage anyone, constant lies from the top down

Dealing with customers technical quires billing issues. Daily target's

Worked very hard for this company for 12 years. And when i wanted a transfer to a different store location they shut the door in my face no loyalty to me i was absolutely discussed. Loved my store and my team but H.R and higher managers treat you bad and have no appreciation for the length of time you have served to them.

Pros

Good wages. Meet new people every day. Life long friends

Cons

Very high pressured job very stressful no appreciation
