Understanding licence and certification attributes
This article explains how to add licence and certification details to your job posts. This information helps match jobseekers to the right jobs.
Licences and certificates
Licences and certifications are official credentials. They are given by the government or approved groups. These credentials allow a person to do a specific job or task.
In job posts, licence details show which licences are needed for the job.
Indeed collects licence details for many job types, including:
- Healthcare: Registered Nurse
- Driving: Non-HGV Category B
- Teaching: PGCE
- Personal care: Special treatments licence
Where licence information shows on Indeed
Licence details in job posts may show up:
- In search results
- On the job page
If a jobseeker has a licence that matches the job, Indeed may show it as a match.
Adding licence information to job posts
You can add licence and certification details in these ways:
- Using an applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Licence details listed in your job description are added to the job post.
- Posting directly on Indeed
- You can add licence details by answering questions when creating the job post.
- When posting on Indeed, add licences in the Key qualifications section. Mark them as Must have or Nice to have, or list them as other role needs.
Best practices
Be clear and exact when listing licences. For example, use 'C1 driving licence' instead of 'Driving licence'
Clear details help jobseekers know if they can do the job and help match them to the right role.
