THE ROLE
The Finance Support Officer role is to assist the finance function across all business units, supporting both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams with a variety of finance tasks. Responsibilities include issuing invoices, processing and reconciling payments, monitoring purchase orders, and resolving financial queries. The role also involves supporting revenue and statutory compliance, assisting with month-end and year-end reporting, and contributing to the smooth operation of financial processes. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with the finance team and senior management.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA part-qualified or a qualified accounts technician.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance team.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills
- Ability to take ownership and drive a project and/or task from conception to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem identification and solving skills.
- Project management capabilities.
- Initiative, determination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Must work well within a Team.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting package.
- Experience working in a very busy account department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the finance functions for all business units and departments as directed by Management.
- Support the Financial Controller to ensure financial compliance and governance meets the Company requirements.
- Develop and implement financial processes and procedures for Revenue and statutory compliance.
- Support month end and year end reporting.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams
- Ad hoc duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Financial Controller or Senior Management.
