Job Title: Safeguarding Development Officer


10D Beckett Way, Park West Business Park, Dublin 12 (Hybrid Model Available)

Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months, 39 hours per week


Salary starting from 41,975 to 56,789 based on Qualifications and Experience.


Job Purpose:

The safeguarding development officer will provide a comprehensive support to the quality and governance national safeguarding lead. A key part of the role will include auditing and evaluation of existing safeguarding frameworks and identifying solutions to both internal and external audit findings. Supporting the enhancement & development of services, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. The post holder will work closely with all internal directors and functions within the Rehab Group in carrying out their role. The post holder must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills be able to use their own initiative, work with teams and manage their own time.


Minimum Education & Experience required:

  • A third level graduate in Health & Social Care, Education & Training, Business or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in safeguarding or a related area.
  • Experience of ensuring compliance with policy, quality standards/regulations and legislation
  • Experience of identifying and assessing challenges and advising & supporting the implementation of actions
  • Proven ability to shape and drive a project from initiation stage to project close
  • Proven record of accomplishment in managing / supporting projects and in engaging with key stakeholders.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • To actively lead / coordinate key projects from start to finish in relation to safeguarding activity, as determined by the national Safeguarding Lead and Quality and Governance Directorate to ensure full compliance with national standards, regulations & legislation
  • To contribute to ensuring compliance with the rehab groups safeguarding commitment to both child and adult safeguarding.
  • To undertake administrative tasks relating to the monitoring of the implementation of the Rehab Groups safeguarding policy and procedures
  • To ensure adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements, service level agreements, policies and procedures in respect of: (1) safeguarding, (2) confidentiality and (3) data protection;
  • Conduct reviews to establish challenges to service, devise corrective actions and actively support the implementation of key actions arising.
