Full job description
The role
We are looking for a versatile, ideas-led designer to shape how Forus Training appears across digital campaigns, websites, email, print and organic social media. You will take projects from brief to delivery, creating clear, engaging work and building a consistent, distinctive brand across our courses and channels.
About Forus Training
Forus Training is an Irish education and training provider based in Mullingar. For more than 25 years, we have helped learners across Ireland build skills, qualifications and confidence through online, live online and classroom-based courses.
What you will do
Digital design
- Create assets for paid social, display advertising, websites, landing pages and email campaigns.
- Develop campaign concepts and adapt them across different formats, audiences and platforms.
- Design responsive, accessible web content with a strong understanding of hierarchy and conversion.
- Build reusable templates and design systems that help the wider team work consistently and efficiently.
- Work with marketing colleagues to test creative, learn from performance and improve future campaigns.
Organic social and content
- Help plan and manage the Forus organic social calendar.
- Create static, carousel and short-form video content from concept through to publication.
- Write or refine concise, on-brand captions and calls to action.
- Schedule and publish content, monitor performance and recommend improvements.
- Capture occasional photo and video content at our Mullingar office, classes and events.
Print and brand
- Design brochures, course materials, flyers, posters, signage and event collateral.
- Prepare print-ready artwork and liaise with printers and external suppliers.
- Maintain brand guidelines, templates and shared asset libraries.
- Check creative work for brand consistency, accuracy and production quality.
Working with the team
- Manage multiple briefs, priorities and deadlines.
- Collaborate with marketing, web, course and leadership teams, as well as external partners.
- Take ownership of projects, respond constructively to feedback and bring relevant new ideas into the team.
What you will bringEssential experience
- At least three years’ professional graphic design experience, ideally within an in-house team or agency.
- A strong portfolio covering digital advertising, web, email, organic social and print.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Experience with Figma and Canva, including templates for non-designers.
- Short-form video editing skills using Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar.
- Experience planning, creating, scheduling and managing organic social content.
- Strong typography, layout and visual storytelling skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- An understanding of responsive design, different audiences and the customer journey.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage projects from brief to delivery.
- The right to work in Ireland and the ability to attend occasional meetings, shoots and events in Mullingar.
Useful but not essential
- Experience in a service or another multi-product organisation.
- Familiarity with content management systems, email platforms and social scheduling tools.
- Photography, filming, motion design, illustration or animation skills.
- Knowledge of paid-media testing, email performance and web conversion.
- Experience working with printers, suppliers and freelance creative partners.
Who will thrive here
You combine strong design abilities with commercial common sense. You care about ideas and detail but know how to keep work moving. You are proactive, dependable and comfortable moving between campaign concepts, social content and print production. You can also communicate your ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.
What we offer
- A salary of €38,000 - €42,000, depending on experience.
- A mostly remote role, with planned time in our Mullingar office and occasional attendance at shoots, meetings and events.
- Genuine ownership across brand, campaigns and content.
- The opportunity to shape the visual direction of an established Irish education business.
- Collaborative, purposeful work that helps people build their futures through education.
