Maintenance Operative ***luxury hotel***


We are currently seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. This full-time role is ideal for a proactive and hands-on individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining the highest standards.

As part of the management team,you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities,equipment,and grounds are consistently maintained to an exceptional level,supporting both operational excellence and an outstanding guest experience.


Location:Cong,Co. Mayo

Employment type:Full Time

Working pattern:5 Days over 7 Days (including some weekends and Public Holidays)

Key Responsibilities as a Painter

  • Liaise daily with Management,Maintenance,and Housekeeping teams to prioritise and coordinate all maintenance tasks
  • Carry out all works to a high professional standard,ensuring minimal disruption to guests at all times
  • Maintain a clean,safe,and organised work environment,using appropriate protective materials (e.g. dust sheets) and adhering to best practices
  • Clearly display safety signage and maintain strong awareness of guest and colleague safety at all times
  • Manage and maintain the maintenance store,ensuring it is kept organised,secure,and compliant with safety standards,including proper storage of any flammable materials
  • Use ladders,scaffolding,and equipment safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures
  • Take a flexible approach to working hours,including evening work where required to minimise guest disruption
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g. Porters,Grounds,Maintenance) to support the overall operation of the hotel
  • Plan,prioritise,and complete tasks efficiently,escalating works and coordinating external contractors through the Maintenance Manager where required
  • Support the wider maintenance function in a hands-on capacity,assisting with general maintenance duties as needed
