ROLE:

Automation Controls Engineer

POSTED: MAY 2024

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Working with our controls team to design, develop and test PLC code in accordance with site coding standards.

  • Work closely with project team to fine tune PLC code during testing & development phase of projects.

  • Develop and test different aspect of automation systems including robotics, vision, PLC, HMI/SCADA, Motion Control etc.

  • Responsible for completing controls aspects of projects within the schedule and budget.

  • Assist in research and implementation of new control technologies.

  • Co-ordinate and manage controls elements of build and debug of equipment.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.

  • The person should be qualified to an appropriate level of engineering and have a demonstrated track record in controls/PLC programming.

  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley control systems including Servo motion control and FactoryTalk View ME/SE.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP & IO Link).

  • Experience of robotics and vision systems is beneficial.

  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are necessary.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and on schedule.

  • Ability to work as part of a flexible, dynamic team, while taking responsibility for individual tasks.

  • Understanding of GAMP 5 documentation standards is beneficial.

  • Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings is beneficial.

  • Experience with Ignition 8 SCADA package beneficial.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry beneficial.
