Weekend On Call Coordinator – working from home
Arising from continued expansion, Emerald Homecare is looking to recruit a part-time weekend On Call Coordinator on a weekend on / weekend off basis. The successful candidate would need to be fully available from 17:00 hrs on Friday to 09:15 hrs on Monday every second weekend. However, the hours of active work will be significantly less than these, depending on call volumes and the level of issues that arise. The On call phone is not active between the hours of 22:00 – 07:00. Peak call times tend to be between the hours of 09:00 – 11:00 & 17:00 – 19:00. You will have the back-up of a Support Manager from the Company at all times should you need support or in order to escalate an issue. Full training in our systems and procedures will be given to the successful candidate.
This role can be performed from home and is a great opportunity to earn extra income while performing a worthwhile service supporting the provision of homecare to our clients.
The main functions of the role are:
- Take responsibility for the on call phone for the entire weekend on duty
- Provide support to our Carers while on duty over the weekend, assisting with access issues, Carers running late, issues with clients and so on.
- Dealing with ongoing variations to client schedules that occur over the weekend
- Providing professional customer service to clients or family members who call the On Call phone with issues to be resolved or updates to be passed on.
- Capturing all issues that arise methodically in the On Call log
- Handling difficult or emergency situations calmly and methodically, calling on the Support Manager on occasion when you need help or to escalate an issue.
- Attending a short briefing on Friday afternoon and giving a short debrief on Monday morning to the office team (both can be via Zoom)
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Fluent in spoken English; proficient in written English
- Strong telephone skills
- Capable of working independently and under periods of pressure
- Ability to multitask and think on your feet
- Proactive, with strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficient IT and data entry skills
- Patience, flexibility, understanding and caring
- Working knowledge of South Dublin geography and public transport would be an advantage
The remuneration will be €250 per weekend.
Company Profile: Emerald Homecare is an owner-managed Homecare company providing Carers to older people in their own homes. We are based in Blackrock village and serve the South Dublin area. We provide home care to private customers who require support at home varying from companionship for an hour or two a week, to personal care, specialised Dementia care, and live-in care. We are also a HSE Approved Service Provider.
