Join the team at one of Galway’s best-loved and award-winning bars!

Located in the heart of Galway’s vibrant Latin Quarter, The Front Door stretches across two floors and two of the city’s most iconic streets, with Shop Street and Quay Street right on our doorstep. We are looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team.

We are a busy late bar in the heart of Galway City Centre, so the successful candidate must be comfortable working late-night shifts, including weekends, and taking responsibility for closing and locking up the premises.

The Role

As Bar Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the bar during your shift and will act as a keyholder, taking responsibility for opening and closing procedures when required. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and leading the bar team.
  • Opening, closing and locking up the venue in line with company procedures.
  • Following all lock-up, security and closing protocols.
  • Operating EPOS/till systems, cash handling and cashing up.
  • Training and onboarding new staff.
  • Managing existing staff performance and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Delegating tasks and maintaining high standards throughout the shift.
  • Dealing confidently with customer issues and operational problems.
  • Working proactively and taking ownership without needing to be asked.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous bar supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience with tills, cash handling and cashing up.
  • Previous keyholder and lock-up experience.
  • Experience training and managing staff.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Reliable, organised and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to identify what needs doing and get it done.
  • Flexibility to work late-night hours, weekends and closing shifts.
