General Manager – Bar & Restaurant
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of an established bar and restaurant as it enters an exciting new chapter under new ownership in North Roscommon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will play a key role in driving the business forward, building a high-performing team, and establishing the venue as a destination within the local community and wider region.
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the front-of-house operation and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Recruiting, training, motivating, and developing the team, including managing staff rosters and labour costs.
- Driving sales, profitability, and overall business performance.
- Developing and implementing creative initiatives to increase footfall, revenue, and customer loyalty.
- Managing stock control, ordering, margins, and supplier relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety, licensing, and operational standards.
- Building strong relationships within the local community and positioning the venue as a destination for great food, drink, and hospitality.
- Working closely with the owners to deliver growth plans, improve performance, and achieve long-term business objectives.
- Ensuring all cash handling, tills, and opening/closing procedures are followed correctly.
- Managing the venue's social media presence to drive customer engagement.
- Maximising occupancy and revenue across the venue's guest accommodation.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior management role within a busy bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.
- A commercial mindset with experience in driving sales and managing costs.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- A hands-on approach and the flexibility to lead by example.
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
- A warm, engaging personality with the ability to make customers feel welcome.
- A thorough understanding of licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and hospitality best practices.
