Full job description

Front of House Manager – Restaurant & Bar

The Green 1918 is a busy, food-led country restaurant and bar with a strong reputation for quality food, genuine hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere.

We're looking for an experienced Front of House Manager to play a key role in maintaining the high standards and guest experience we're known for.

This is a hands-on leadership role centred around great service. Working alongside our General Manager, Bar Manager and front of house supervisors, you'll coach the team, recognise excellent performance and help ensure our systems, procedures and daily checklists are consistently followed across every shift.

The Role

You'll lead front of house service each day, ensuring the team works together and every guest receives a warm, genuine welcome from the moment they arrive.

This is a hands-on role. On quieter shifts you'll work alongside the team, while during busy services you'll lead the floor, support your colleagues and keep service running smoothly.

You'll help ensure our daily procedures and checklists are being completed properly, that service remains consistent across every shift and that small issues are picked up before they become bigger ones.

Working closely with the kitchen and management team, you'll also share guest feedback and observations that help us continue improving our food, service and overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front of house service across the restaurant and bar
  • Coach, support and develop the front of house team and supervisors
  • Maintain consistently high standards of hospitality and guest experience
  • Ensure daily procedures and checklists are completed and standards are consistently followed
  • Monitor labour levels and make staffing decisions during service
  • Oversee front of house stock management
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver smooth service
  • Share guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve service
  • Support recruitment and ongoing staff development

About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and gets satisfaction from helping others do their best work.

You'll be confident leading busy services, comfortable making decisions and someone who naturally notices the details. You enjoy coaching people, recognising great performance and helping team members improve when standards begin to slip.

Experience in restaurant management, hospitality management or a similar front of house leadership role within an Irish restaurant, bar or pub is strongly preferred.

Success in this role isn't about doing everything yourself. It's about building a team that consistently delivers great hospitality, whether you're leading the shift or not.

Why Join The Green 1918?

  • Join a busy, food-led restaurant and bar with a strong local reputation
  • Play a key role in shaping the guest experience
  • Work with a supportive and experienced management team
  • Competitive salary based on experience, with opportunities to grow as the role develops

The Position

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • €33,000–€37,000 depending on experience
  • Five days per week
  • A mix of day and evening shifts
  • Weekend work required

We're located in Borrisokane, and this role is best suited to someone based within commuting distance or willing to relocate locally.

Applicants must currently have legal permission to work in Ireland and be available for an in-person interview.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €33,000.00-€37,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
