Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join our team in a busy nursing home setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to the efficient operation of our nursing home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bringing accounts to Trial Balance.
  • Reconciling bank accounts.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts for multiple companies.
  • Generating and posting client sales invoices.
  • Maintaining debtor reconciliations and credit control records.
  • Assisting with processing creditor invoices and performing creditor reconciliations.
  • Processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting management reporting.
  • Assisting with administration relating to nursing home operations, including Fair Deal and HSE processes where required.
  • Maintaining office supplies and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
  • Working closely with management and administrative staff to ensure the efficient operation of the nursing home.
  • Undertaking any other administrative and accounts-related duties as reasonably required by management.

Essential Requirements

  • Bookkeeping experience covering all aspects of accounts administration.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ accounting experience within practice or industry.
  • Payroll experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50.
  • Strong understanding of accounting procedures and reconciliations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional and courteous manner when dealing with residents, families, suppliers, and external agencies.
