Deputy General Manager
Bunratty Castle Hotel | Co. Clare
Full-Time | Senior Leadership Position
Salary DOE
Following an extensive refurbishment and successful reopening, the 4-star Bunratty Castle Hotel is seeking an exceptional Deputy General Manager to join our senior leadership team.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role within one of the region's most exciting hospitality destinations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence across all departments, with a particular focus on Food & Beverage performance and events and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the overall leadership and strategic direction of the hotel.
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of all departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Drive performance across Food & Beverage operations, including Fibber McGee's Steakhouse and event/meetings spaces.
- Develop, mentor and inspire departmental managers and teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, health & safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, payroll, labour costs and departmental profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery and revenue generation.
- Act as a visible leader within the business, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Assume full responsibility for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a highly driven hospitality professional with a proven track record in senior hotel operations.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior hotel management position within a quality hotel environment.
- Strong and demonstrable background in Food & Beverage operations.
- Extensive operational management experience across multiple hotel departments.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop large teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and delivering financial targets.
- Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Flexibility and commitment required for a senior leadership role.
Desirable
- Experience within a 4-star or luxury hotel environment.
- Previous experience as Deputy General Manager, Operations Manager, Hotel Manager or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of revenue management, cost control and business development.
