Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Café Supervisor to join our team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the café while delivering outstanding service to our customers.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily café operations, including opening and closing duties.
  • Lead and support front-of-house staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Greet customers warmly and handle any issues or complaints professionally.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met.
  • Train and mentor new team members, supporting ongoing staff development.
  • Ensure the café is clean, organised, and welcoming at all times.
  • Collaborate with the manager to improve service, processes, and performance.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a busy café or restaurant environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Barista experience essential.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic reporting.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required.
  • A genuine passion for great coffee, food, and customer service.
