Full job description

About the role

This is a front of house role with two things at its heart: great coffee and great customer service. You'll be the face of Nobó on the floor — pulling consistent espresso, dialling in the grinder through service, pouring clean latte art on every milk drink, making every customer feel welcomed and looked after.

We're looking for an experienced barista — at least three years on bar in a busy specialty café — who can step in and run the bar from day one. Friendly, professional and self-motivated, with a real passion for coffee and people. You'll be a team player who creates a warm, relaxed environment for customers and backs up your teammates without being asked.

What it involves

Coffee craft

  • Pull espresso consistently and steam milk properly — every cup, every shift.
  • Pour clean, consistent latte art on every milk drink — rosetta, heart and tulip as a baseline.
  • Dial in the grinder at the start of service and adjust as conditions change throughout the day.
  • Keep the bar clean, stocked and dialled in throughout service.
  • Know your drinks — what's in them, how to make them, how to talk about them.
  • Keep learning. Stay curious about the coffee and the craft.

Customer service

  • Greet customers as the face of Nobó — regulars known by name, first-timers made to feel like regulars.
  • Take care of customer needs and requests warmly and professionally.
  • Take orders accurately on the POS and keep the queue moving without losing the personal touch.
  • Resolve small issues live and warmly; flag anything bigger to the supervisor on shift.
  • Respond quickly and sympathetically to any customer concerns.

Behind the counter

  • Keep front-of-counter clean, stocked and on-brand. No clutter.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety standards of The Treathouse.
  • Adhere to HACCP and food-safety standards.
  • Attend team meetings.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years' experience as a barista in a busy specialty café.
  • Confident, consistent latte art on every milk drink (rosetta, heart and tulip as a baseline; bonus for more advanced patterns).
  • Solid espresso and grinder dial-in skills — you can judge a bad shot and adjust on the fly.
  • A passion for our brand and ethos.
  • A cool, calm head under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a sense of pride in what you do.
  • A warm and kind personality.
  • A can-do, positive attitude.

Our mission and values

We're striving to create a kinder, more vibrant, positive world by inviting more people to treat themselves better. We do that by:

  • Creating insanely delicious treats from the simplest ingredients, made with love, by hand.
  • Building a store at the heart of the community.
  • Being of benefit to our neighbours.
  • Offering every single customer a unique and welcoming experience.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Highlighting who we are and what we do at every step.
  • Finding creative solutions.
  • Building a happy and valued team.

Schedule

  • Typically 8-hour shifts
  • Weekend availability required

  • Company events
