Carewswood Garden & Café is a thriving, family-owned destination combining a busy daytime café with garden centre. We are passionate about great food, excellent coffee, outstanding customer service and creating memorable experiences for every visitor.

We are looking for an experienced (table service) , enthusiastic and hands-on Café Manager to oversee the daily operation of our busy daytime café, leading a team to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring smooth, efficient and profitable operations.

This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the café floor, inspiring their team, maintaining high standards and continually looking for ways to improve the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the café team to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Manage the daily operation of the café from opening to closing.
  • Recruit, train and develop team members.
  • Prepare staff rotas and manage labour efficiently.
  • Maintain excellent food quality, presentation and service standards.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
  • Monitor sales, labour costs, stock levels and waste.
  • Ensure HACCP, food safety and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Handle customer feedback professionally and positively.
  • Oversee cash handling, till procedures and daily administration.
  • Drive sales through excellent merchandising, promotions and upselling.
  • Foster a positive, supportive and professional working environment.
