We are hiring!

Our family run, speciality cafe has been recently opened in Monkstown, Cork. We are focused on producing high quality, homemade food and pastries while also supporting local suppliers.

We are searching for passionate, experienced Cafe Assistants for our bustling, customer-focused establishment. You will be responsible for leading the service standards under the guidance of the Store Manager.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who has a passion for seasonal, homemade food, enjoys building relationships and who can be a team player to ensure a great experience for our customers.

An exciting opportunity to progress your career in the food and retail sector whilst also learning the intricacies of operating a small business.

The applicant must be barista trained and certified.

Full-Time Roles: Approximately 30/40 hours, 4 days per week (flexibility considered), possibly including weekends on occassion. Start date: ASAP. Typical hours 8am to 4pm (4 day week) across Tuesday to Saturday. Approximately 20 days annual leave pa (working hours dependant).

Job Description:

  • The main daily responsibilities include Cafe set up/close down, producing high quality barista coffees, operating tills, stock management, waste management, customer assistance, taking orders & communicating with kitchen, handling any complaints or issues, handling food, HACCP knowledge and serving customers.
  • Always aiming to exceed the expectations by anticipating customer needs and provide a pro-active service
  • To ensure the cafe is set up for the day, maintaining standards and completing tasks where appropriate and as directed.
  • To actively drive average spend per head, by identifying all opportunities for recommendations.
  • In the absence of the store manager, help manage the operation effectively, maximising sales.
  • Work alongside the kitchen and adhere to HACCP requirements
  • To highlight health and safety or maintenance matters to the Store Manager.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

  • Previous experience working in a small team in a café, store or restaurant.
  • Barista experiance essential.
  • Always aim to exceed the expectations
  • To enjoy yourself at work in order to create a happy work environment.
  • Willing to get stuck in and drive the business forward.
  • Great communicator and ability to work with other leaders within the business.
  • A positive and outgoing personality
  • A good command of the English language.
