Full job description

Celtic Anglian Water operates a number of water and wastewater facilities throughout Ireland. This includes the Ringsend wastewater treatment works which handles circa 40% of all waste water in Ireland. Celtic Anglian Water also provides design, build, install and maintenance solutions to industry in Ireland and the UK.

We are looking for a shift Operator to join our team in Ringsend. The role will require the candidate to work as part of a team and also on an individual basis. ‍

Main responsibilities:

  • Operation of plant and equipment
  • General Operative duties
  • Reporting of maintenance issues
  • Fault finding and trouble shooting
  • Sampling
  • Health and safety checks
  • Data acquisition and recording
  • Routine cleaning & inspections

Training will be provided for successful candidates in the operation of a modern waste water treatment plant, including the following certified courses:

  • Safe pass
  • Manual handling
  • Forklift & Shunter
  • Confined space
  • First Aid response
  • Opportunities of further development, education & career progression. ‍

The appointment is on a permanent basis in Dublin, after successful completion of a probationary period. Competitive salary, pension & annual performance related bonus. ‍

Shift Operator Work Rota Pattern (12 hour Shifts 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am, 8 days per week) is as follows:

2 days on, 2 days off, 2 nights on, 2 nights off = 8 days

This rotation is then repeated 7 more times. Followed by 17 days off work to rest.

This pattern is repeated 5 times in total per shift operator, throughout the calendar year.

Annual leave is incorporated into this shift pattern.
