Front of House Team Member – Daytime Hours

Location: The Pavilion, Co. Cork — just minutes from Cork City Centre
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Daytime shifts only

The Pavilion is Cork’s leading lifestyle and garden centre, with a popular café and restaurant at the heart of our business.

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House Team Member to join our busy restaurant team.

This is a daytime-only position, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a welcoming, high-quality food environment while maintaining a great work-life balance.

Whether you have previous hospitality experience or are looking to develop your skills in a busy customer-facing environment, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a member of our Front of House team, you’ll play an important part in creating a welcoming experience for every customer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming and engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Taking orders and serving food and beverages efficiently
  • Handling payments accurately and confidently
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout the restaurant
  • Helping with daily opening, set-up, closing and clear-down procedures
  • Ensuring restaurant facilities, equipment and furnishings are kept clean and in good order
  • Reporting any maintenance or operational issues promptly
  • Responding positively and professionally to customer feedback and requests
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our customers

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
  • Has a friendly, positive and approachable manner
  • Is reliable, motivated and enjoys being part of a team
  • Is comfortable working at pace while maintaining attention to detail
  • Has good communication skills
  • Is confident handling basic payments and mental arithmetic
  • Is willing to learn, develop and contribute ideas
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards

Previous hospitality, café, restaurant or customer service experience is an advantage, but being friendly with right attitude is just as important.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous catering, café, restaurant or hospitality experience
  • HACCP / Food Safety certification

Training can be provided where required.
