About the Company

We are expanding, we are about to take on a new venture, and we are looking for a Head Chef to join our group management team.

Currently the group consists of 2 pubs, The Step Inn in Stepaside and Revel Bar in Rathfarnham Village. The Step Inn food is huge part of the business and consists of a high volume combination of restaurant quality food and gastro pub with staple and signature dishes. Revels is bar that produces gastro pub favourite dishes with the addition of a tapas /small bits menu.

The new venture based in South Dublin will look to recreate The Step Inn menu & vibe.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive the food offering at our busy restaurant and pub. The successful candidate will have a strong background in producing high-quality restaurant and traditional pub food, while maintaining excellent standards of consistency, food quality, hygiene, and profitability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who is passionate about creating great food, developing teams, and contributing to the continued success of a thriving hospitality business.

In time this role may evolve into a group executive chef position

Expereince in Irish hospitality is an essential requirement

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the kitchen team on a daily basis.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food to the highest standards.
  • Develop and maintain menus featuring popular restaurant and pub staple dishes.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
  • Manage food costs, GP margins, stock control, and supplier relationships.
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff.
  • Maintain HACCP procedures and ensure full compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Create seasonal specials and menu innovations that complement the core offering.
  • Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements where required.
  • Work closely with management to achieve business and financial targets.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen operation.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior chef position, with at least 2 years as Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant, gastro pub, or similar environment in Irish Hospitality Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and traditional pub food.
  • Proven experience managing kitchen teams.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of food cost management and stock control.
  • HACCP and food safety knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for quality food and customer satisfaction.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience developing menus and seasonal specials.
  • Knowledge of current food trends while maintaining strong pub classics.
  • Experience with rostering and labour cost management.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
