Wholesome Kitchen is a casual style restaurant based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. We make healthy food delicious and fast, simple. #GuiltFreeGoodness

We’re big on creating a fun and memorable experience for our customers and team. We’re looking to hire a Sous Chef. Experience with wok and asian style cooking is an advantage. We're looking for someone who's friendly, positive and likes working in a busy environment as part of a team. We've a large chef team and require additional chefs to help expand our business all from the same location.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operate a successful kitchen in a cool, calm and fun manner
  • Ensure the highest standard of food quality, presentation and service
  • Working on our busy Wok station preparing main dishes
  • Ensure cost control and minimal wastage
  • Manage the daily setup and preparation required for a smooth and successful service
  • Management of HACCP and health and safety in the kitchen
  • Train and develop kitchen team to required standards
  • Participate in daily testing of foods for quality control
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Promotes a positive working environment

Knowledge / Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2+ years Chef experience
  • Experience with Wok cooking desired
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • HACCP trained
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties
  • Works well under pressure
  • Drive and ambition to succeed
  • Customer and team focussed
