Circet Ireland are looking for a qualified Electricians in Dublin and surrounding areas.

Working as a Smart Meter Electrician within Circet's Energy division on behalf of ESB, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of smart energy infrastructure to domestic customers. Your primary responsibility will be the safe and efficient installation, exchange, testing, commissioning and maintenance of smart electricity meters in residential properties.
This is a customer-facing field-based role requiring technical excellence, a strong focus on safety, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and industry standards.

Responsibilities of a Smart Metering Electrician:

  • Carry out the safe installation, replacement and commissioning of smart electricity meters in domestic properties.
  • Undertake pre-installation inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Safely isolate electrical supplies and complete meter exchanges in accordance with industry regulations and company procedures.
  • Complete electrical testing and verification activities to ensure the accuracy and functionality of smart metering equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults relating to smart meter installations and associated equipment.
  • Educate customers on the operation and benefits of smart metering technology, including the use of in-home displays and energy consumption monitoring.
  • Ensure all installations are completed in compliance with ESB Networks, CRU requirements, Safe Electric standards and company procedures.
  • Complete electronic job packs, installation records, safety documentation and compliance paperwork accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, testing equipment and stock to the required standards.
  • Meet daily productivity and quality targets while maintaining excellent standards of customer service and safety.
  • Escalate technical issues, customer concerns or network-related faults through the appropriate channels.
  • Participate in training programmes and continuous professional development activities to maintain competence in evolving smart metering technologies and regulations.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Qualified Electrician (Level 6 Advanced Certificate or equivalent).
  • Inspection, Testing and Verification qualification.
  • Strong understanding of domestic electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of current Electrical Wiring Regulations.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Experience using mobile workforce management systems and handheld devices.
  • Experience in customer-facing field service environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Knowledge or experience with communication technologies used in Smart Metering systems (desirable)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.
  • Demonstrable commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Flexible regarding travel and changing operational requirements
