About The Ability Hub
The Ability Hub is expanding with a progressive adult day service supporting young adults with Autism and Intellectual Disability as they transition from school into adult life.
Our person-centred approach focuses on inclusion, independence and meaningful outcomes, empowering each individual to live a fulfilling life while actively participating in their community.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Specialist, you'll join a growing multidisciplinary team and play a key role in delivering high-quality Positive Behaviour Support. You'll help shape a new service, working collaboratively to develop evidence-based supports that improve outcomes for the people we support.
This role is based across our North Dublin (Garristown) and South Dublin (Dún Laoghaire) services.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSP/PBSP)
- Deliver evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support interventions
- Collect, analyse and interpret behavioural data to inform practice
- Ensure all interventions are person-centred, rights-based and least restrictive
- Provide coaching, training and ongoing support to frontline staff
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Prepare professional reports in line with organisational and HSE standards
- Support service development, quality improvement and best practice
- Promote reflective practice and continuous learning across the service
- Apply CPI/de-escalation strategies where appropriate
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology or a related discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in behaviour support
- Membership of PSI or ISBA
Strong knowledge of:
- Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Behaviour assessment and intervention
- Supporting individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual Disability
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
Transport:
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Visa Requirements
- Full legal authorisation to work in the Republic of Ireland
Desirable
- BCBA certification (not essential)
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff
- CPI, MAPA or equivalent training
- Experience supporting young adults in community settings
