Our client, a leading food manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate to join their growing Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the site's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while working closely with cross-functional teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Food Safety Management Systems through GMP audits, CCP verifications, and Food Safety walks.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company procedures, food safety requirements, and FSSC 22000 standards.
- Support the expansion, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Quality Management Systems across operational areas.
- Work closely with production and other departments to ensure quality and food safety standards are consistently achieved.
- Provide guidance and support to operational teams regarding quality processes and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development and delivery of food safety training programmes for new and existing employees.
- Support internal audits and third-party certification audits.
- Manage and maintain the Document Management System, ensuring all controlled documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Train employees on documentation requirements and quality procedures.
- Monitor changes in regulatory and quality requirements and support the implementation of necessary updates.
- Drive, monitor, and review corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out additional duties as required.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quality Assurance, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- At least 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety Management Systems, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and managing controlled documentation and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Experience delivering training or supporting employee development initiatives would be advantageous.
