Henry J Lyons Architects is an Irish architectural practice based in Dublin City Centre. Our studios are located on Pearse Street, Dublin 2 and on Albert Quay in Cork. We have a team of over 280 architects, designers and support staff who work on projects throughout Ireland and internationally.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Communications Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience across communications and marketing within a leading architectural practice.
Working closely with our Directors, Communications group and Brand Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of our communications activity. This role would suit someone who is organised, creative and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Support
- Assist in creating and scheduling content across our communication channels, including the company website, social media, newsletters, Sharepoint and marketing materials
- Help ensure all communication channels are updated regularly and kept current
- Support the production of engaging content that showcases our projects and expertise, working alongside the Communications group, Brand Manager and Graphic Designers.
- Help gather and prepare internal communications, including announcements, events and general information
- Support the Communications group with planning and organising events and projects. This includes attending weekly meetings, tracking task progress, gathering project content from teams across the practice, and coordinating logistics with internal teams and external consultants.
- Assist in monitoring social media and communication activity, and help compile basic metrics/reports
- Support the coordination of award entries throughout the year
- Monitor and maintain the communications calendar, ensuring deadlines and activities are tracked
- Monitor media coverage, mentions, and project features across online and print sources
- Liaise with team on advertising and sponsorship and help gather project information for publications and press.
General Support
- Assist with the coordination of internal events and activities, liaising with HR, the Social Committee and admin
- Provide general administrative support to the communications function
- Keep up to date with trends and best practice in communications and social media
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Some experience or a qualification in communications, architecture, marketing, business, English or a related field
- Strong written communication skills with good attention to detail
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A proactive, willing attitude and eagerness to learn
- Comfortable using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A team player who can work collaboratively across the practice
Desirable
- Familiarity with social media platforms in a professional/business context
- Experience with other design tools (e.g. Canva, Figma) or content management systems
- An interest in architecture, design or the built environment
