Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional qualification CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in finance or treasury, working on cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience with processes, controls, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional and international teams and to assist with well-defined tasks within a project, manage time, and follow work plans.
  • Ability to have attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent investigative skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet's financial services companies in EMEA.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional business leaders to provide accounting support for the development and launch of new products and expansion into new markets. Guide the business to mitigate risk, support high-quality decision-making, and help build the financial infrastructure to scale in support of the business.
  • Identify process and improvement opportunities by leveraging AI, scripts, and automation tools to streamline financial reporting workflows, reduce manual intervention, and enhance the function's overall value proposition.
  • Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books/records, analyzing and posting journals at month end.
