Key Responsibilities
- Review design schemes and drawings to identify the most suitable light-gauge steel solution for each project.
- Develop solutions by translating client briefs and designing information into a commercially viable proposal.
- Measure drawings and carry out accurate quantity take-offs using digital tools.
- Prepare detailed budget costs that are both competitive and commercially accurate.
- Prepare clear and professional quote documents for issue to clients.
- Work alongside contracts and design colleagues to review and refine estimates throughout the tender process.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure all material costs are accurately reflected in proposals.
Essential Criteria
- Must be confident working with numbers and able to measure drawings accurately.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with formulas and organised spreadsheets.
- Must be able to read and understand basic construction drawings and technical information.
- Be able to read, write and speak in English to a professional level.
Desirable Criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience using a digital measure tool, such as Blue Beam, CostX or similar.
