Consumer Channels eCommerce Product Owner
Glanbia Management Services
The Central Channels team are looking for a Product Owner to join our Customer and Consumer product team. Reporting into the Central Channels product manager and working as part of the Customer and Consumer team. The successful candidate will act as the product lead for eCommerce capabilities across our digital channels.
This team is dedicated to innovation and excellence, working on some of the world’s best-known brands across the Glanbia Group. Leading key global product initiatives across web and application platforms, you will focus on building and enhancing eCommerce experiences, customer journeys, and digital commerce capabilities, delivering strategic initiatives and managing the end‑to‑end product lifecycle.
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in eCommerce and digital platforms.
You will be responsible for managing and evolving our eCommerce products and platforms, including website experiences, integrations, and third-party technologies. This includes shaping product strategy, managing backlogs, delivering features, and driving continuous improvement across the digital commerce ecosystem.
As an eCommerce Product Owner, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery—working closely with stakeholders to define value, prioritise work, and deliver high-impact solutions aligned to business goals.
This is a permanent position that will offer a hybrid working model, combining remote and onsite work in Kilkenny.
Key elements of the role
- You will define and deliver the eCommerce product roadmap, aligning to customer, commercial, and business objectives
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring features are prioritised based on value and impact
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story development with delivery teams
- Drive improvements across the end-to-end customer journey (browse, search, checkout, post-purchase)
- Manage and optimise eCommerce platforms and integrations (e.g. payments, marketplaces, email/CRM systems)
- Own and manage product budgets, ensuring effective allocation of spend across roadmap initiatives and tracking return on investment
- Ensure delivery teams are always working on the highest value items, removing low-value or non-strategic work where appropriate
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, translating them into technical deliverables and product features
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and suppliers, driving innovation and value
- Support user adoption through documentation, training, and ongoing engagement with business users
- Monitor product performance using data and insights to drive conversion rate optimisation and customer experience improvements
- Manage incidents, bugs, and change requests, ensuring timely resolution and continuous platform stability
- Support and participate in functional testing and validation of features, ensuring solutions meet business requirements
- Contribute to business cases and ensure ROI and value realisation across product investments
- Act as the subject matter expert for eCommerce, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance digital capabilities and customer engagement
Qualifications
- 3rd level qualification in Business, Technology, eCommerce, or a related field, with a strong technical foundation or equivalent practical experience.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Digital Product Manager, or eCommerce Product Owner
- Experience managing budgets, investment planning, and prioritisation of competing initiatives
- Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, digital ecosystems, and customer journeys
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Experience managing stakeholders and cross-functional teams with clear communication
- Exposure to CMS platforms and digital tools (e.g. Shopify, eCommerce platforms, and supporting applications and tools, etc.)
- Strong understanding of web technologies, integrations, APIs, and digital infrastructure
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to link product decisions to business outcomes
- Highly analytical with a structured approach to problem solving
Competencies
- A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong ownership mindset and accountability for both delivery and budget outcomes
- A team player who can collaborate cross-functionally and drive delivery
- A passion for eCommerce, digital innovation, and customer experience
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
- A drive for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes
