Since 2011, The School Food Company has been dedicated to serving fresh, healthy lunches that are cooked daily onsite in our kitchens which we install in schools.
Location: Our schools in Bray.
Contract:
Team Leader:
- 25-28 hours per week. Shift: Approx 8:00am - 2:30pm. Monday to Friday. Half day every Wednesday.
- You will be cooking fresh meals daily onsite in our kitchen.
- Leading kitchen operations such as: rostering, placing orders with food service providers, recruiting and supervising staff, ensuring food safety and Company policies are adhered to and overseeing daily cash lodgements.
- Rostering will be issued one week in advance. You will also be required to move between schools within approximately a 30-minute drive of your main location for support.
- Experience in team leadership, catering, and cooking is required.
- Training in HACCP is preferable.
- Term time working only.
Full Time Catering Assistants:
- Monday to Friday, half day every Wednesday.
- 25-28 hours/week Shift: Approx 8:00 am/9:00am - 2:30pm.
- You will be cooking fresh meals daily in the kitchen, preparing and serving food, and assisting in maintaining a busy kitchen environment.
- Rosters issued one week in advance, with days having to be flexible.
- Requirement to move between schools within approximately a 30-minute drive of your main location for support.
- Term time working only.
Part-Time Catering Assistants:
- Candidates must have open availability between Monday and Friday. While you may not be rostered every day, you must be available to work any day during the week up until 3:00 PM
- 10-15 hours/week Shift: Approx 8:00 am/9:00am - 2:30pm, on a 2 day / 3 day weekly rotation.
- You will be cooking fresh meals daily in the kitchen, preparing and serving food, and assisting in maintaining a busy kitchen environment.
- Rosters issued one week in advance, with days having to be flexible.
- Requirement to move between schools within approximately a 30-minute drive of your main location for support.
- Term time working only.

Is This Role For You? (Please Read)
To ensure you love this job, we want to be 100% transparent about what it involves:
This is a Cooking Role: You won't just be serving. You will be peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking ingredients from scratch every day. (We do not deal with raw meat)
The Days Change Weekly: We operate on a rotating roster for part time positions (2 days one week, 3 days the next). You will not have set days (e.g., "Mondays off"). You need to be available Monday-Friday.
Flexibility is Key: Because of the rotating schedule, this role is not suitable for those in part-time education or with fixed commitments on specific weekdays.
What You Will Be Doing
Cooking from Scratch: preparing fresh, healthy meals daily in our onsite kitchens.
Kitchen Management: Assisting with the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
Service: Serving students at each break, which also involves cash handling.
Safety First: Maintaining high standards of HACCP food safety and hygiene.
The Schedule
Hours: Approx. 8:00 am - 2:30pm.
Roster: Issued one week in advance.
Rotation: Full Time 5 days Monday to Friday. Part time you will work a 2-day / 3-day weekly rotation.(No set days)
Term time working hours.

Mobility: You must be willing to move between schools within a 30-minute drive of your school for support/cover when needed.

Experience: Experience in catering or home cooking is a massive advantage, but a positive attitude is essential!
