Kildare, W23 H028 are seeking an experienced Catering and Housekeeping Manager to lead high standards of food service, cleanliness, and infection control in our Nursing Home . The successful candidate will manage teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. Excellent leadership and organisational skills are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualification in Hospitality Management to Higher Diploma level Have at least 4 year’s experience in hotel management role Experience must include the management of all departments within the hospitality sector
  • Capable to lead a team with a positive attitude, exceptional customer service skills and a good knowledge of Housekeeping, Laundry, Infection control techniques and Food Hygiene (HACCP)

Responsibilities

  • Plans roster for Domestic and Kitchen Staff on Monthly basis and sends to Group Manager for approval
  • Keeps Rosters updated on a daily basis and informs Human Resources Department of absences to be recorded for Bradford Ratio
  • Ensures that staffing requirements are met on daily basis and will solve any staffing shortages firstly in-house/in-group before seeking outside sources
  • Liaise with HR and DON on all employee related issues- i.e. recruiting, appraisals, disciplinary
  • Plans annual leave with employees and checks annual leave days with HR before approval, ensuring that holidays can be covered with remaining staff
  • Ensures that staff have used holiday entitlement within any year
  • Passes All Holiday requests from Chefs, to the Group Manager for approval
  • Liaise with Kitchen on daily basis and promote good communication with all departments
  • Ensures that the correct equipment and supplies are being used by staff for all jobs
  • Part take in any job related training
  • Ensures that employees are trained, have read and are aware of the health & Safety manual and follow all Health & safety regulations with all equipment and chemicals
  • Ensure that all Employees have the required information and training related to their job
  • Liaise with maintenance department regarding any issues or problems with facilities, being mindful of costs at all times, use in house maintenance before seeking outside help
  • Monitors stock levels of all equipment and supplies, and oversees monthly stock take and forwards this on monthly basis to GM(s)
  • Places orders with suppliers on a weekly basis as directed and reports any misuse of equipment/supplies to GM(s)
  • Be mindful of supply use and avoid waste and unnecessary breakages.
  • Ensures that staff members are mindful of supply use and are recording breakages as per occurrence.
  • Encourages all employees Speak English whilst on duty and corrects employees where necessary.
  • Keeps checklists updated and reports to GM(s) on daily basis by means of an End of day report
  • Participates in performance appraisal process and spot checks, with an effort to improve work performance and efficiency
  • Carries out regular performance checks on employees and follows up where necessary
  • Reports to GM(s) when Disciplinary action is necessary and handles all disciplinary procedures with discretion
  • Carries out appraisals in a timely manner as per company's policy on all employees together with GM(s) accordingly
  • Be professional, friendly, approachable courteous and pleasant in all interactions with residents, visitors and staff
  • Ensure that the residents requests are met on daily basis by all Staff members
  • Ensure that all work is carried out whilst ensuring resident safety
  • Practice and ensure that proper infection control techniques are being practiced by employees
  • Practice and ensure that good HACCP procedures are always followed at the centre.
  • Ensures that the TLC Citywest Centre standards are maintained.
  • Ensures that staff members abide by the Centre’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure that all incidents are recorded and appropriate action is taken.
  • Be knowledgeable and updated of fire and safety policies.
  • Work co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Organises and Oversee Special events held at the centre
  • Keep all work related issues within the centre and do not discuss outside
