Data Centre Network Engineer

Contract Type: 11 month

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Network Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting large-scale network deployment and infrastructure projects in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in large-scale network environments, particularly within hyperscale, cloud, telecommunications or data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and support large-scale backbone, edge, data centre, campus and CDN infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP and SDN.
• Develop technical implementation documentation including MOPs, BOMs, EDPs, SOWs and Rack Face Elevations (RFEs).
• Coordinate network deployments, equipment deliveries and site activities.
• Support equipment provisioning and production turn-up.
• Troubleshoot network, hardware, server and automation issues.
• Work with Linux or Windows server environments and technologies including DNS, DHCP, ZTP and HTTP.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and field teams to deliver projects successfully.
• Complete post-deployment checks, documentation and operational handovers.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and deployment efficiency.

Requirements

• 5–7 years' experience in network engineering or a similar infrastructure role.
• Strong experience with large-scale network deployments.
• Good knowledge of IP routing and switching.
• Practical experience with BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP and SDN.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, systems and automation.
• Experience coordinating technical projects and multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Linux or Windows server environments.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.

Desirable Experience

Experience within hyperscale, cloud, telecommunications, data centre, AI infrastructure or large-scale technology environments would be highly advantageous.
