You'll be joining a collaborative and experienced Legal team that plays a key role in helping the organisation achieve its strategic objectives. Working closely with colleagues across the business, we provide practical, solution-focused legal advice on a broad range of matters.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- work within RTÉ’s Legal team, assisting the legal function in relation to all of RTÉ’s contracting and related commercial requirements, reporting to RTÉ’s Director of Legal Affairs.
- work directly with RTÉ’s various divisions (Commercial, Procurement, Content, Audio, News, Platform and Distribution, Technology, People, Finance and more), advising in respect of and drafting the myriad contractual agreements required for these business lines.
- collaborate closely with business partners and cross functional teams to tailor agreements that support business objectives while maintaining appropriate risk management.
- support legal input into growth and strategic initiatives for RTÉ.
- play a key role in the legal division, developing precedent contracts and playbooks to enable efficient delivery of legal services.
- contribute to policy and position papers to enable RTÉ deliver on its public service mandate.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic experience
- Qualified solicitor or barrister
- 3-6 years’ experience drafting and negotiating contracts and commercial agreements
- Experience negotiating and drafting media production contracts
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law and rights issues in media production generally
- Experience negotiating and drafting platform, distribution, licensing and partner agreements
- Experience negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial terms for online services, competitions and general commercial matters
- Experience negotiating and drafting miscellaneous commercial agreements including Goods & Services Agreements, IT Agreements, SAAS Agreements
- Experience advising on compliance with public procurement law
- Knowledge and experience of data protection law, including drafting and negotiating data processing and related agreements
