Location: Cork City

Reporting to: Manager/Supervisor as Specified

Contract: Temporary

Hours per week: 29

Shift Pattern: Monday & Tuesday-Flexibility essential

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part-Time Chef with Front of House & customer service experience to join our team at a busy city centre site. This role would suit someone who is confident working in a fast-paced catering environment and who can take ownership of daily food service, hospitality delivery, food safety standards, menu planning & ordering.

The role also encompasses front of house elements such as, confidently using till, end of day cash reports, set up of restaurant with seasonal & weekly marketing material and display of retail products.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality breakfast, lunch, and hospitality services, ensuring food is fresh, well-presented, cost-effective, and produced in line with HACCP and food safety requirements.

1 Practical

  • Greet and Feed staff/ guests/residents in a polite and friendly manner
  • Cooking by the menu
  • Cleaning of the kitchen after use and maintain a clean kitchen
  • Food orders as per menu
  • Work with the menus together with manager on duty
  • Handle deliveries according to procedures

2 Customer Relations

  • Encourage good relations with all colleagues on site
  • Promptly deal with any queries or complaints from manager

3 Training

  • Partake in basic induction training for new staff
  • Partake in ongoing training from supervisor
  • Use of Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (w/a)

4 HSEQ

  • Understand how ISO fits into daily business operations.
  • Read, understand and work in accordance with the company’s HSEQ Policies.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with company HSEQ procedures and work instructions.
  • Support the implementation, operation and continuous improvement of our HSEQ Management Systems at site level.
  • Manage non-conformances and complaints and record centrally.
  • Focus on customer needs and expectations.
  • Cascade relevant HSEQ information to your direct reports and front-line employees.
  • Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed on site
  • Use of Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (w/a)
  • Understand how ISO fits into daily business operations
  • Read, understand and work in accordance with the company’s HSEQ Policies
  • Complete tasks in accordance with company HSEQ procedures and work instructions

Other features of the job

It may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours. As part of your job, you will be expected to attend training events and/or meetings and travel to other locations may be required. Local requirements will govern your patterns and locations of work.
