Assistant Critical Facilities Manager
Dublin | Data Centre Environment | €70,000–€80,000
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Critical Facilities Manager to join an established data centre managed services business in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Centre / Critical Facilities professional looking to take the next step in their career, working within a technically demanding environment where reliability, compliance and operational excellence are critical.
The Role
As Assistant Critical Facilities Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and reliability of critical infrastructure within a data centre environment.
You will work closely with the Facilities Management and Operations teams, providing technical leadership on site and helping ensure critical systems remain operational and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and maintenance of critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling and security systems
- Support planned preventative and corrective maintenance programmes
- Monitor system performance and respond quickly to operational issues
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and specialist vendors
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-site technicians and support staff
- Assist with emergency response and incident management
- Support audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident records
- Support capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades
- Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained
- Act as a professional representative of the business when dealing with clients and third parties
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background within critical facilities, data centres or a similarly critical environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- 3+ years' experience within critical facilities or data centre operations
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience working within a mission-critical environment
- Knowledge of BMS and CMMS systems
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience managing contractors and third-party suppliers
- The ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies
- Previous experience providing technical leadership to engineers/technicians
- A relevant Engineering or Facilities Management qualification is desirable
- Data Centre Operations Professional (DCOP) or equivalent certification would be advantageous
