Job Title: Family Support Programme Co-Ordinator

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: The CRY Centre, Unit B14, Tallaght Cross West, Dublin 24.

This is a Hybrid working role.

About CRY:

CRY Ireland is a registered charity, based in Tallaght, Dublin 24, committed to supporting families impacted by the sudden cardiac death of a young person and those living with a diagnosis of an inherited cardiac condition. CRY Ireland’s mission is to provide free emotional support services and facilitate access to screening, supporting research and awareness initiatives for people across the island of Ireland affected by an inherited cardiac condition or the loss of a young person to sudden cardiac death.

Job Purpose:

Lead the effective coordination and delivery of the Family Support Programme, ensuring that families receive a responsive, compassionate and professional service. Supporting the Charity’s team of Helpline & Family Support Programme Volunteers. Monitor service needs, support continuous improvement, and ensure that programme activities are delivered in line with agreed standards, available resources and organisational priorities.

Provide practical, professional and reliable support to the Chief Executive Officer in the management and coordination of the charity’s day-to-day activities. This includes assisting with planning, organising, reporting, service coordination, implementation of decisions, and the delivery of priorities and tasks that may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer from time to time including drafting and sending letters and emails, Minute taking document management, scanning and archiving files, communication updates, quarterly reports and Board Updates, managing incoming communications from supporters, processing and recording donations, maintaining accurate supporter records, and ensuring supporter information and marketing consents are managed in accordance with GDPR and organisational policies and ad hoc duties as required in line with the purpose of the role.

Duties & Responsibilities

Working collaboratively with the CEO and Board of Trustees, develop and maintain constructive relationships with families, colleagues, volunteers, healthcare professionals, partner organisations and other relevant stakeholders. Represent CRY Ireland positively and professionally, ensuring that communications are clear, sensitive and consistent with the charity’s purpose and reputation.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

▪ Experience within healthcare or social care services. Third level qualification in Childcare, Social Work or Social Care, Psychology, Social Sciences (or relevant discipline), Education, Adult Education, Community and Youth Work (or another equivalent relevant discipline).

▪ Can show compassion, understanding and empathy towards families who have experienced a bereavement or living with a diagnosis and is comfortable listening to people, providing emotional support and treating them with dignity and sensitivity.

▪ Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritising projects, tasks and communications while remaining organised and responsive to changing priorities.

▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally engage with a diverse range of persons and organisations;

▪ The ability to recognise and manage critical relationships;

▪ Excellent time management, organisational and project management skills;

▪ Have excellent IT skills across a range of software applications; Experience working with databases or CRM systems

▪ An ability to show initiative, with a flexible ‘can-do’ attitude;

▪ Strong team player with the ability to work independently.

▪ Flexible, reliable and proactive.

▪ Is adaptable to new working environments and has a high degree of initiative

Hours

This is a full-time (37.5 hours service over five days per week), permanent position. You will be expected to be available during normal office hours; however, due to the nature of the job, work outside of normal office hours and over weekends may arise on occasion. This is a hybrid working role with an agreed number of days, office based.

Travel

The role will require some travel within Ireland to support service requirements. Travel and Subsistence payments are made within the Civil Service rates and conditions.

  • You are highly skilled at the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)

  • You are comfortable working with databases and digital files.
  • You enjoy using technology as well as learning and applying new skills and tools.
  • You have permission to work in Ireland.
