Working Pattern: Full-Time | 5 Days Over 6 (Monday–Saturday)

Office working patterns of between 07:00am - 19:00pm

This is a full-time office-based position working five days over six. Saturday working forms part of a shared rota to support our transport operation, and whenever you work a Saturday, you'll receive a day off during the week in lieu, ensuring a balanced working week.

In addition, you'll participate in a shared out-of-hours on-call rota, ensuring our drivers have access to operational support outside of office hours. This responsibility is shared across the Transport Team, providing a fair and balanced approach while supporting our 24/7 operation.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Transport Planner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the exceptional service they're accustomed to by coordinating the safe, efficient and compliant movement of our fleet.

Working alongside our experienced Transport Team, you'll be responsible for planning daily transport operations, communicating with drivers, responding to changing operational demands and ensuring deliveries are completed safely, legally and on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and scheduling daily delivery routes across our Rigid and Artic fleets.
• Allocating vehicles and drivers to maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.
• Monitoring deliveries throughout the day and responding quickly to delays, changes or operational challenges.
• Communicating with drivers throughout the day, providing guidance, support and operational updates.
• Building strong relationships with customers and ensuring excellent service is maintained at all times.
• Managing customer requests and making real-time planning decisions to meet changing operational demands.
• Supporting compliance with RSA regulations, Drivers' Hours legislation and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Producing driver schedules and maintaining accurate transport records using company systems.
• Monitoring vehicle availability and coordinating maintenance requirements with the Fleet Team.
• Investigating delivery discrepancies and implementing practical solutions.
• Supporting the planning of annual leave and driver rotas.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Operations Team to continually improve efficiency and customer service.
• Participating in a shared out-of-hours on-call rota, ensuring drivers have access to operational support outside of office hours.
