Delivery Driver / Order Picker – Full-Time

Salary: €34,000 per year + €12.17 daily supplemental payment for each day worked

About Blake's Food Service

Blake's Food Service is a successful independent distributor of ambient, chilled, frozen and non-food products, supplying customers throughout Ireland's hospitality, food and drinks sector.

We are currently looking for a full-time Delivery Driver / Order Picker to join our team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for picking, loading and delivering customer orders on predetermined delivery routes.

The working week operates Monday to Saturday, with an early morning start of 5:45am. Flexibility is important, as finishing times and working hours may vary depending on the operational requirements of the business and the delivery route.

Each morning will typically begin with approximately 1½–2 hours of order picking and vehicle loading, after which you will complete deliveries to customers along your designated route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
  • Load the delivery vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver customer orders on time and in excellent condition.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to customers.
  • Complete and submit the required driver's reports.
  • Account for and submit any cash collected from customer sales.
  • Follow company food safety and handling requirements.
  • Report delivery queries, shortages, damages, incidents or accidents to your line manager.
  • Complete weekly vehicle cleaning and walk-around safety checks.
  • Take appropriate care of the company vehicle and equipment.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold a full, clean Category B driving licence.
  • Be available to commence work at 5:45am.
  • Be comfortable with the physical requirements of order picking, loading and making deliveries.
  • Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
  • Have good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Be flexible regarding working hours to meet the operational needs of the business.
  • Have a positive and professional approach when dealing with customers.

Previous delivery or foodservice experience would be an advantage, but a strong work ethic, reliability and the right attitude are equally important.

Salary & Additional Payment

Starting salary: €34,000 per annum.

In addition to the annual salary, drivers receive a daily supplemental payment of €12.17 for each day worked, which is calculated and paid monthly.

This supplemental payment is additional to the €34,000 annual salary.
