Full job description

Van Driver

Location: Portlaw
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Contract: Full-Time

Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a reliable Van Driver to support daily collections and deliveries for a client based in Portlaw.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys being on the road, is comfortable travelling longer distances when required, and takes pride in representing a business professionally during customer interactions.

The successful candidate will complete scheduled drop-offs and pick-ups, occasionally travelling to locations such as Dublin and Cork. This is a Monday-to-Friday role with standard daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily deliveries and collections as scheduled by the logistics or warehouse team.
  • Drive safely and efficiently, ensuring all drop-offs and pickups are completed on time.
  • Travel to destinations that may include Dublin, Cork, and other regional locations.
  • Load and unload goods where required, ensuring items are handled safely and securely.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, report any maintenance issues, and follow all road safety guidelines.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service at collection/delivery points.
  • Complete basic paperwork or digital logs related to deliveries.

Requirements

  • Full, clean driving licence (mandatory).
  • Previous experience in a driving or delivery role is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and professional manner.
  • Physically capable of handling light-to-moderate lifting when loading/unloading.
  • Familiarity with regional and national routes is desirable.
