Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Working Groundsman / Digger Driver to be based full-time on our site in Convoy, Donegal. The role involves carrying out all general grounds work and digger operations, and ensuring the site continues to run smoothly while the Site Foreman is attending other projects.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, take initiative, and complete tasks to programme, providing a practical presence on site at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate diggers and excavators safely and efficiently
  • Carry out general site groundwork, including digging, trenching, and grading
  • Maintain and service plant and equipment as needed
  • Work independently to complete tasks to the construction programme
  • Support other trades and coordinate with the Site Foreman as required
  • Maintain a safe and tidy site environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating diggers/excavators
  • Experience in general site groundwork or groundsman duties
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Physically fit for manual work
  • Strong understanding of construction site practices and health & safety
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Previous supervisory experience or ability to manage tasks on-site
