Full job description

Marlfield House is currently recruiting for the position of Food and Beverage Manager. With two multi award winning restaurants, the fine dining Conservatory Restaurant and the more casual Duck Restaurant, 26 bedrooms and over 30 weddings annually the successful candidate will have significant F&B supervisory and management experience. A solid background in 4[5 star hotels will be required with experience in managing up to 25 F&B staff, full and part time.

The Food and Beverage Manager will be primarily focused on collaborating with the management to develop and maximise opportunities in all food and beverage outlets; develop, train and motivate the team all levels, while achieving key targets.

The successful candidate will Lead a team with enthusiasm, eagerness and a genuine care to give guests the best service.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service focused
  • To oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of two restaurants and cocktail bars ensuring they are adequately staffed and supervised
  • Be focused and standards driven
  • Ensure that staff are trained to give a professional and friendly service in all areas
  • Be focused on staffing costs and margins
  • Be responsible for training of staff to company standards, rostering and staff holiday management ;
  • Delivery of agreed targets including costing, ordering (in line with company procurement procedure) and profit management;

Required Experience:

  • Energetic, enthuastic, ambitious, hardworking and people and results orientated;
  • The ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with staff building team spirit and eagerness to succeed
  • Natural ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with guests and colleagues;
  • Exceptional team leadership and communications skills
  • Motivates, inspires and empower others to improve performance;
  • A proven track record in managing costs, GP’s and budgets in Food & Beverage department;
  • Minimum of four years’ Food & Beverage Management level experience at 4/5 Star hotel level;
  • Have excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • IT Proficiency in restaurant reservations systems, POS, EXCEL, and hotel
