Aftersales advisor (Aftersales & Parts)

About us

iMotors (formerly Inishowen Motors) is Donegal’s number one Kia and Nissan dealer. Our sales and aftersales teams have won awards for customer care, and we invest continually in our people and our facilities. As the business grows, we’re looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join our aftersales team.

The role

You’ll be the link between our customers and our workshop. From the first phone call to the moment a customer drives away, you’ll make sure every visit runs smoothly, every job is booked and recorded correctly, and every customer feels looked after. Alongside service advising, you’ll also handle parts enquiries and invoicing and prepare insurance estimates, so no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities

Customer service and workshop

  • Be the first point of contact for service customers, in person and by phone
  • Book appointments and manage the workshop diary so technician time is used well
  • Prepare accurate job cards and brief technicians on customer concerns
  • Explain work, costs and recommendations to customers clearly and honestly
  • Keep customers updated while their car is with us, and contact them when it’s ready
  • Carry out professional vehicle handovers, going through the work done and the invoice
  • Follow up on advisories and promote service plans to build repeat business
  • Keep customer records and the CRM accurate and up to date

Parts

  • Handle parts enquiries from customers, technicians and trade accounts promptly
  • Process incoming and outgoing parts invoices accurately
  • Monitor stock levels and order parts so jobs aren’t held up

Insurance and bodywork

  • Prepare insurance repair estimates
  • Liaise with motor assessors and insurers to get repairs approved and claims processed

What we’re looking for

  • Experience as a service advisor, service receptionist or parts advisor in a motor dealership (essential)
  • Working knowledge of vehicle parts and servicing
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including explaining technical work in plain English
  • The ability to stay organised and calm in a busy, fast-paced workshop
  • Good computer skills; experience with dealer management systems is a strong advantage
  • Insurance estimating experience is a plus (training can be provided)
  • A proactive team player with a keen eye for detail
  • A full, clean driving licence
