Core Drilling Technician

About VentSolve

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Core Drilling Technician to join our growing team.
Role
As a Core Drilling Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out safe and accurate diamond core drilling for ventilation systems on residential and commercial projects. You will work closely with our installation teams to ensure every project is completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diamond core drilling through brick, block, concrete, and stone walls.
- Drill holes ranging from 100 mm to 250 mm (or larger when required).
- Set up and operate core drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read drawings and determine the correct drilling locations.
- Ensure cores are level, accurately positioned, and completed without damaging surrounding finishes.
- Maintain drilling equipment and report any faults.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers and site managers.
- Assist the ventilation installation team when required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with diamond core drilling.
- Full clean Irish driving licence.
- Safe Pass (essential).
- Manual Handling certificate.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Experience working on construction sites is an advantage.
Desirable:
- Working at Heights certification.
- MEWP or IPAF certification.
- Experience drilling for ventilation, plumbing, or electrical services.
- Knowledge of residential ventilation systems.
