Full job description

Night Owls Decorators prepares vacant apartments and houses for new tenants across Dublin.

We are looking for a reliable, experienced part-time handyman to carry out general maintenance and finishing work in vacant properties before handover.

This role suits someone who is practical, tidy, dependable, and able to work independently across different sites in Dublin. The right person must also be comfortable using a smartphone and sending clear work updates, photos, and basic notes.

Working hours

Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm

Pay

From €18.00 per hour, depending on experience

What you’ll do

  • General handyman repairs in vacant apartments and houses
  • Replace laminate / click flooring, including trims and neat finishing
  • Light refresh painting and touch-up painting
  • Basic sealing, patch repairs, handles, hinges, and small adjustments
  • Final snagging before handover
  • Drive a company van between job sites across Dublin
  • Collect keys, small materials, and supplies when required
  • Take photos and send updates by smartphone
  • Report issues clearly and on time

What we need

Applicants must have:

  • minimum 4 years’ handyman / maintenance experience
  • strong experience with laminate / click flooring
  • confidence with light painting and finishing work
  • ability to work alone without close supervision
  • good timekeeping and reliable attendance
  • good practical problem-solving skills
  • full EU / European B driving licence
  • experience driving on the left-hand side of the road
  • confidence driving a van in Dublin
  • basic smartphone, email, and messaging skills for work updates
  • references available on request

Important requirements

  • Not suitable for subcontractors or self-employed applicants
  • You must be willing to work in all Dublin areas assigned
  • You must already have handyman experience — this is not an entry-level role
  • International driving licences are not accepted for this position
  • A full EU / European driving licence is required for insurance purposes
  • Stamp 4 or unrestricted full-time permission to work in Ireland is preferred
  • Applicants should have good working English
