Join Our Team at Emerald Home Care as a Home Healthcare Assistant!
Who are we?
Emerald Home Care is a nurse led, Irish owner - managed homecare company based in Blackrock, Dublin. We are not a part of a franchise or large corporation, we are entirely focused on providing high quality, local homecare in South Dublin. We provide a well-run, ethical homecare service to our Clients and their families and we are an approved HSE Service Provider.
Emerald is seeking compassionate, enthusiastic carers to work on an hourly basis to service our clients in the South County Dublin areas. Previous experience is ideal but not required, as we provide paid Caregiver Induction training, all you need is the right attitude and a passion for caring for others!
- Location: Blackrock, Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Stillorgan, Dundrum, Churchtown, Crumlin, Drimnagh and surrounding areas.
- Morning hours available (9am -12pm availability).
- Weekend hours available (morning and evening availability).
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is preferred but our Home Care Assistants also use Bikes, E-Bikes/Scooters, public transport and walk to client homes.
What is Home Care?
As a Home Care Assistant, you'll support people in their own homes, helping them stay independent and live with dignity in their community. Your workplace will change multiple times a day as you travel from home to home within a set local area.
Your Role Will Include:
Delivering high quality care and assistance to our clients to include:
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting).
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers by Hoisting and utilising Patient Moving & Handling practices.
- Light meal preparation and feeding support.
- Providing companionship and emotional reassurance while encouraging independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, etc.)
- Prompting medication where necessary.
- Accurately following and documenting care plans and reporting any changes or concerns in relation to clients directly to the office.
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting Hourly rates from €15.00 - €20.00 with premium pay on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Double pay on Bank Holidays.
- Bi-weekly pay.
- Mileage payment between client visits or Leap card subsidy payments.

- Paid training which includes: QQI qualification, Induction Training and Online certified training courses.

What You'll Need:
We welcome both new and experienced carers.
- QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support Course or two core modules of Care Skills and Care of the Older Person are desirable but not necessary we pay for you to complete the core modules.
- Possess a kind, positive, outgoing, friendly personality.
- Willing to travel between clients: walking, using car, bike or public transport.
- Competency in English - both verbal and written.
- Must live in the greater Dublin area with the right to work in Ireland.
- Valid International Police Clearance and Visa (if applicable).
- Full valid EU driving licence if you own your own vehicle.
